Our ACCORD ISS summer programme offers a well-balanced timetable of English tuition, sport and fun activities combined with outings to recreational and cultural centres. The school has superb facilities including:

During the afternoons there is a choice of 4-6 activity options, at least two of which are non-sporting. Activities include, for example, football, basketball, swimming, rugby, hockey, rounders, table tennis, cricket, volleyball, water polo, yoga, dance, cookery, board games, drama, walk on the Downs, jewellery making, art and craft, origami, music and many more!

Every Friday afternoon, students have the opportunity to visit Eastbourne town centre and/or the beach. Every Friday evening there is a BBQ followed by a formal presentation of prizes and leavers’ certificates followed by a disco.

Evening entertainment can include quiz games, themed nights such as Harry Potter or Sherlock Holmes, talent shows, discos, beach games, film nights just to name a few.


Excursions, which change weekly, take place  on a Wednesday and Sunday. A full day in London is included, as well as other places of cultural interest. Our ACCORD ISS staff always accompany students on all visits. Below are some examples of trips:

  • National Portrait Gallery, sightseeing in London; Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and shopping
  • Seven Sisters and Cuckmere Haven – to include a walk along the beautiful scenic countryside to the beach and a choice of various activities such as raft building, mountain biking, den building, etc.
  • Buckingham Palace state rooms tour, watching the Changing of the Guard, picnic in St James`s Park and Leicester Square
  • Hastings – Smugglers Caves,  Hastings Castle and the 1066 Story followed by a walk in the old town and beach
  • Science Museum London, visit to Harrods, picnic in Hyde Park and walk in the Kensington area
  • Hever Castle, once home of Anne Boleyn, castle grounds and water maze
  • Brighton – sightseeing, pier, pavilion, beach, the Lanes and shopping

All excursions, including entrance fees and tickets, are included in the weekly course fee. There are no additional costs.

Optional Activities and Sports at the ACCORD ISS Summer School

Alongside the ACCORD ISS social and activity program we also have additional activities and sports at the ACCORD ISS Summer School available for students to book onto. These additional sports and activities are taught by fully qualified sports specific professionals so all students can expect to be challenged and motivated during the sessions.

The Paris Saint-Germain Academy England is also proposed at ACCORD ISS Moira House.

Optional sports at the ACCORD ISS Summer School: ACCORD ISS works closely with local and regional sports providers to provide a full range of additional activities so that all of our ACCORD ISS students have the chance to practice their hobbies or favored sports. Some of the ACCORD ISS optional activities and sports at the ACCORD ISS Summer School take place off-site at sports specific venues so that our students receive an all rounded experience of English Sporting venues and professional coaching. Students are also very welcome to bring their own equipment however all equipment is provided, so do not worry if your baggage is a little full!

ACCORD ISS optional sports and activities are subject to availability and we recommend that students book onto additional sports activities as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Sports at the ACCORD ISS Summer School: Sailing/Kayaking

Whether your child is a beginner or a natural, Sailing and Kayaking is a great Optional Activity for all abilities. ACCORD ISS works very closely with local sports clubs who deliver our Sailing/Kayaking courses, and all staff are fully qualified and trained to give your child an extremely rewarding experience.

Students will have the luxury of sailing/kayaking in beautiful local lakes and rivers. Each student will receive a total of six hours of tuition with fully qualified member of staff and this will be spread into two hour sessions across three afternoons.

To attend ACCORD ISS Sailing and Kayaking all students must be 12 and years and older, all equipment will be provided but students may bring their own wetsuits if they wish.

Windsurfing is one of the most complex water sports to learn but our programs are fully designed for children of all abilities to develop their skills in a beautiful local lake or river. The ACCORD ISS Windsurfing program will test student’s technique, skill and ability to perform at speed, but this course has been very popular with students as they find it extremely rewarding.

Students who wish to sign up to Windsurfing must be aged 12 years or over.

Students will receive a total of 6 hours of tuition spread across 3 afternoons during one week.

The biggest Lawn Tennis competition is held here in England, famously known as ‘Wimbledon’. Tennis professionals from across the globe come to London to participate in this historic event each year.

ACCORD ISS work very closely with the Lawn Tennis Association to ensure that our Tennis Academy is taught by highly qualified coaches ensuring that our courses are challenging, rewarding and enjoyable.

Students are invited to bring along their own tennis equipment, however the school will provide all necessary equipment.

Students will receive 6 hours of tennis coaching, 2 hours per session with a total of 3 sessions per week.

Why not practice your swing whilst studying English here in the UK. Our ACCORD ISS Golf Activities give students a great opportunity to see the English landscape and beautiful golf courses as well as developing their golf skills.

All students will be taken to the local Golf Course (dependent upon school of study) and taught by the Resident Golf Professional for 6 hours per week.

Previous students have really enjoyed our Golf Courses, the small groups or private one to one tuition really help each student excel and progress.

Sports at the ACCORD ISS Summer School: Horse Riding

Horse riding is a very popular sport here in the UK and this is shown through the UK’s success in the recent London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Whether you are a beginner looking to put your horse riding skills to the test, or a natural who wants to just relax and enjoy your hobby whilst studying English here in the UK.

ACCORD ISS works closely with local Equestrian centres to ensure that each students receives the best horse riding experience possible.

Each student will receive 3 hours of tuition throughout the week. The sessions are broken down into three one hour sessions and students can borrow plenty of equipment from the equestrian centres so there is no need to bring your own.

The ACCORD ISS Dance Academy in the ACCORD summer residential schools in England.

Dance Academy

Get on your dancing shoes this summer and learn with our very own ACCORD ISS, fully qualified dance instructors. Dance Academy is available at all of the ACCORD ISS summer schools and has proven to be a very popular optional activity with our students. We welcome all ages and abilities, and all students will be taught a variety of dancing styles from contemporary, street and even breakdancing.

Throughout the week, students will work in groups developing and practicing techniques and routines and then each group has the chance to perform to the rest of the school and students.

The Dance Academy courses run for six hours per week, with sessions running for two hours across three afternoons.
